Very Positive Stuff

"The positive thinker sees the invisible, feels the intangible, and achieves the impossible." - Anonymous (not the group).

Monday blues again... Well, this month has been pretty awesome already, so lets recap to get inspiration for a new week :) (most of the things are connected with Hub Vilnius, no wonder cause I work from there everyday...)
An bunch of other good things, but this is what I remember or had in my Facebook events :)

Probably no one could argue that one of the most impressive events that happened this year already was Hub Camp #2Hub Camps are open even events, everyone is welcome to come, listen, discuss, meet Hub'ers and etc. Hub Camps are inspired by BarCamp Lithuania. So, growing from 6 speakers and around 30 attendees in Hub Camp #1 to 9 presenters and around 200 people in Hub Camp #2,  who filled out the whole Swedbank hall. Brief summary of the event:
Hub Camp #2 in Swedbank Hall

After brief opening words from Swedbank SME department director and Hub Vilnius co-founder Mindaugas Danys the floor was given to 1st presenter Algė Ramanauskienė, Llamas valley co-founder.

Algė presented internet magazine Llamas valley, talked about Llamas valley international expansion and experience in first Lithuanian startup accelerator - Startup Highway. Llamas Valley is targeting Scandinavia, UK, USA and they are successfully using social media, blogs to spread the word about them. So be sure to visit Llamas valley FB page, they give out cool free stuff from time to time :) Apparently, Llamas valley had pretty hard time building their business in Startup Highway, but the final comment was that is totally worth it due to great mentors and tests they had to go through. Event was recorded by starters.lt team, thus you can see the whole Llamas valley presentation here!

2nd was Andrius Ciplijauskas, designer - scenographer, founder of 1st community center BEEpart in Pilaitė. Andrius talked about how using creativeness and social innovation one can create active communities nice to live in. Check out BeePilaite FB page for cool photos and latest events. See Andrius presentation here.

3rd was Danielius Stasiulis, business consultant from Civitta, who announced a new innitiative with Versli Lietuva (entrepreneurial Lithuania) - together they will be providing consulting and a place to work for new businesses free of charge.  Anyone starting an innovative  business connected to internet, technologies or sciences in Lithuania is eligible for these packages and can contact Danielius by email: danielius@civitta.lt. See Danielius presentation here.

4th on stage was Eglė from soon to start innitiative Jaunimokarjera.lt (translates to something like Youth career). Honestly, I missed her her whole presentation, was late to return from break because of chatting and beer drinking. That is where recording of her presentation was very useful :) To sum up - she will be providing students in Universities opportunity to get internship in startups! Very cool idea, as students must do internships because of university curriculum and do need experience. While startups need  people with range of skills and cheep labor.

5th to take the floor was Marijus Surdokas, architect anf Hub'er. Marijus delivered a very nice speech about about innovative houses and presented a new project - inovatyvusnamas.lt. this website will be dedicated to providing information on how to build a good looking, eco-friendly, innovative and most importantly - a cheap house. See his presentation here.

6th and definitely the most entertaining (as well as one of the longest and most informative) presentation was done by Ernests Štals from Latvia, representing  TechHub Riga and co-founder of reach.ly. Ernests shared his  motivation going into startups, experiences doing them and a bunch of fun stuff that happened to him as a result. That involved beer drinking (appearently, lots of it), being homeless in Helsinki... Just watch his presentation here yourself. And for sure check out sweet TechHub Riga!
7th was Viktorija Trubačiūtė, freelance UX consultant. She explained how to create and use infographics, its better if you see it yourselves, cause in the end that's the point of infographics :) So click here for Viktorija's presentation and contact her zezere@gmail.com if you are interested in infogrphics.

8th - Justas Janauskas, co-founder of manodrabuziai.lt and tagify.us told how to startup in New York. Very interesting story how he accidentally got involved in development of tagify.us by droping by in Startup Weekend New York City, see the full presentation here

tagify.us helps you to find and organize people that matter to you. It does so by adding tags to your contacts in social networks that describe them the best or that you choose to tag.
9th was Daumantas Dvilinskas co-founder of pinevio.com and he brought news about Startup Monthly coming to Vilnius in 2012! whatch his presentation here.
